Local 'Unique French Bistro' Named 1 of City's Best New Restaurants
Chicago Magazine recently published a list of the city's 18 best new restaurants. One Lincoln Park spot made the cut.
The staff at Chicago Magazine may have scoured the city—and a few suburbs—to create their annual Best New Restaurants list, but in the end, just one Lincoln Park eatery made the cut.
After tasting their way through 73 contenders, reviewers selected Chez Moi, 2100 N. Halsted St., to fill eighth spot on the publication's competitive list of newcomers. In 2013, Chicago Magazine only listed 18 restaurants compared to the 20 that made the cut in 2012.
The magazine describes Chez Moi as "deliberately unhip and decidedly authentic." The restaurant's menu says it's a "Unique French Bistro".

Dominique Tougne’s signature coq au vin is a one-way ticket to your favorite boîte in your favorite arrondissement, his seared trout over braised cabbage in caper-lemon beurre blanc makes the tried-and-true seem brand-new, and the gâteau Breton—each bite crumbly, buttery, and moist—tastes like the biggest and best shortbread cookie on the planet."
The restaurant's Gâteau Breton also recently received a hat tip from Time Out Chicago. It made the publication's 100 Favorite Things we Ate or Drank in 2012.
