Adults in the U.S. spent $512.1 million on their holiday getups in 2011, according to Crain's Chicago Business. That's $100 million more than was spent on children's Halloween costumes last year. And Lincoln Park tops the list of area spending.
Crain's tracked adult Halloween costume expenses by Chicago zip code and found that local households spent $318,806 on costumes.
