Major Water Main Work Starts Soon
A major construction process will soon be under way in Lincoln Park.

The city's water department will soon start installing a more-than 2,600-foot water main in Lincoln Park.
At exactly 2,688 feet and 8 inches in length, it will run along North Maud Avenue from North Racine to North Sheffield avenues; on North Seminary Avenue from West Armitage to North Maud avenues; and on North Kenmore from North Clybourn to North Maud avenues, according to information provided by 32nd Ward Alderman Scott Waguespack's office.
The project is scheduled to end in January 2013 and restoration will begin in April 2013. But that time line will greatly depend on weather or any other unforeseen circumstances.

"The Water Department will do its best to complete the project quickly and with the least amount of disruption," according to a statement from his office. "Since the pipes have not been replaced since 1912, it is something that must be done as soon as possible."
