Man Hitches Ride On Roof Of CTA Bus (VIDEO)
UPDATED: Watch this public transportation passenger create his own priority seating Wednesday.

CHICAGO, IL — It's no secret that superheroes are popular at the box office. But one Chicagoan took that acclaim a step further by doing his best impression of Spider-Man on Wednesday, climbing aboard the outside of a CTA bus and riding atop the vehicle's roof.
The bus passenger's novel — and illegal — approach to public transportation was captured on video and posted on online by Lloyd Anthony Peters of Rogers Park. In a Facebook update, Peters wrote that he and the man chatted at the Fullerton station in Lincoln Park when "[h]e asked me to tap him on the bus. I said I can't. He said 'F--k it' then climbed up there." (Get Patch real-time email alerts for the latest news for Lincoln Park and Chicago — or other neighborhoods. And iPhone users: Check out Patch's new app.)

Peters, who has a broken leg and is on crutches, told DNAinfo that the man initially asked for a cigarette, which Peters obliged him with. In fact, the man is seen in the video taking a drag off that cigarette as he waves from his custom-made priority seating aboard the roof of the bus.

CTA spokeswoman Irene Ferradaz told Patch on Thursday that the agency is aware of the incident, and officials are working with the Chicago Police Department to identify the individual.
"This kind of behavior is extremely foolish and dangerous not just to the person involved, but other passengers as well," Ferradaz wrote in an email, adding that "appropriate charges" will be pursued.
Wednesday's incident is yet another example of the inventive ways Chicagoans use the city's bus and rail systems. Last year, an eight-second video posted online showed a man hitching a ride on the Red Line by clinging to the outside of a rail car. The footage was aptly titled "Crazy Ass."
