The local business at 2205 W. Belmont Ave. has been perfecting dessert decorating since 2006, snagging notice from Stewart’s overarching corporation Omnimedia Inc. Owner Alekka Sweeny says it all started with a nervous phone call in 2007, and now, she’s being called on again to represent Stewart in a new venture.

Blue Line Service Delayed After Body Found on Tracks
Service on the Blue Line is now delayed between Damen and Racine avenues Friday morning while police investigate a body on the tracks, CTA representatives say.

Lincoln Park HS Students Walk Out to Save Teachers
Hundreds of Lincoln Park High School students staged a walkout Friday morning to protest the firing of several teachers.
CBS Chicago and WBBM Newsradio’s Bernie Tafoya report that the students chanted "save our teachers" as they marched out of school, 2001 N. Orchard St., around 9:30 a.m. and assembled on Armitage Avenue.

UPDATE: No Injuries Reported in CTA Train Derailment (PHOTO)
Red and Brown lines are delayed this morning after a Red Line train derailed near the Armitage Avenue CTA stop, representatives with the CTA report.
While no injuries are reported, EMS and fire crews are at the scene assessing the issue. The derailment happened around 11:20 a.m., CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis told the Chicago Tribune.

Target Reveals Plans for New Lake View Store
Representatives with Target Corp. are ready to reveal plans for their new Lake View location, and officials say the façade’s design blends well into the historic neighborhood.
The initial presentation for the store on the corner of Lincoln, Belmont and Ashland avenues was made during the 44th Ward’s Community Directed Development Council meeting last week.
