New ReMarked Salon Will Remain Open During Renovations

When it comes to hair, Mark Anthony is hoping to put the "mark" in remarkable.

He's at the helm of new Bucktown salon, ReMarked, 2143 N. Damen Ave., which is in a space that formerly housed The Urban Mom.

Although the salon officially opened for business Feb. 1, there's still some work to do inside. 

But visitors would never know it. Renovations had yet to begin on Thursday and Anthony said work should not disrupt business as usual.

"Everything will hopefully be done within 30 to 60 days," he said, while giving a tour of his new digs.

Clients can soon expect a full color bar and separate waxing room, he said. The black and red themed salon boasts eight stylists and all Paul Mitchell products.

Lip and brow waxing are currently offered along with a repertoire of other services including keratin treatments, hair coloring and of course, cuts.

ReMarked is in a two-storefront space and has a contemporary feel.

The business has friendly stylists who aside from salon work, serve up wine, cucumber and lemon-infused water, and on the weekends, mimosas.

ReMarked is closed on Sundays and Mondays but open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays; from noon to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays; and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays.
