Partiers: Hop Aboard Free St. Paddy's Shuttles

The Chicago Transit Authority is teaming up, once again, with Miller Lite Free Rides this coming St. Patrick's Day to get boozers safely from point A to point B, whether it's another North Side bar, a popular L stop or a Metra rail.

It's no secret that green beer—or any beer, for that matter—and driving don't mix.

Save yourself the trouble of getting behind the wheel or even taking cabs this St. Patrick's Day, when Miller Lite Free Rides returns to the North Side for the fourth consecutive year. The free shuttle service not only got people safely to Sunday's South Side Irish Parade, but is driving drinkers around on March 16 and 17.

The service will be available to those celebrating downtown on Saturday, March 16, between 9 a.m. and midnight and on Sunday, March 17, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Shuttles will run on two routes, making stops in the Loop, River North, Old Town, Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville neighborhoods at popular bars and restaurants, as well as near high-traffic L stops, Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station.
