PHOTOS: New North Side Walmart Opens Today
After heated debates and months on construction, the new Walmart Neighborhood Market is officially open in nearby Lake View. See photos of the finished grocery store here.
Along with a store in Little Village and Back of the Yards, Walmart opens its new Neighborhood Market in Lake View today, making it one of just eight in Chicago and 230 in the United States.
Walmart employees opened the doors Tuesday evening to the media and neighborhood officials for a pre-grand opening sneak peek. However, the store is open to customers Wednesday beginning at 6 a.m.
Located at 2844 N. Broadway near Diversey Parkway, the store will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with slightly altered hours for the its pharmacy.

And at more than 30,000-square-feet, it's more than double the size of Trader Joe’s, which is just two blocks away.
