Police on Prowl for Culprit of Lincoln Park Criminal Sex Assault
Chicago Police issued an alert Wednesday regarding a man who tried sexually assaulting a woman in Lincoln Park earlier this week.
Chicago Police issued an alert Wednesday afternoon regarding a criminal sexual assault that reportedly occurred earlier this week in Lincoln Park.
The incident was on Aug. 4 around 12:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of North Magnolia Avenue, near where the avenue intersects Dickens. That area is covered by the department's 18th district.
"The offender attempted to sexually assault a female victim while she waited for her friend to return home," police said.
The suspect is believed to be a 40- to 44-year-old man who police describe as "white Hispanic." He stands between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 120 to 150 pounds.He has a dark complexion and black hair.

Police are encouraging residents to always be aware of their surroundings, walk in pairs or groups and dial 911 to report suspicious activity immediately.
