Cops Warn Locals of Burglars Plaguing 18th District

Chicago Police issued an alert last week regarding a series of robberies that have been reported within a law enforcement district that includes a section of Lincoln Park.

Police are asking residents of one of the department's local districts to be extra vigilant, as a series of burglaries have recently been reported nearby.

Lincoln Park is covered by parts of the 18th and 19th Chicago Police districts. Although none of the burglaries included in investigators' recent alert occurred within the neighborhood's boundaries, they were within those of the 18th district. 

"This alert gives notice ... of an increase in burglary related incidents during the month of March," police said. "Unknown offender enters residences while citizens are away and takes cash, laptops or computer tablets. These incidents have occurred during daytime hours ... "

Police are asking that residents throughout the district report suspicious activity immediately, keep doors and windows secured and immediately repair any broken windows or locks.

  • March 6 between 7:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street.
  • March 6 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street.
  • March 6 between around 4 p.m. in the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street.
  • Feb. 28 around 8 a.m. in the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street.
  • March 10 around 7 p.m. in the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street.
  • March 18 between 3:08 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Wells Street.
