Sarks in the Park Welcomes Renown Breakfast Chef
Bon appetit! A local brunch favorite known for its creative menu is stepping it up yet another notch with the addition of a well-known culinary connoisseur who specializes in—you guessed it—breakfast.
If you thought Sarks in the Park had made its menu as delicious as possible, you were wrong.
With a new chef on the roster, it's now tackling specials like pumpkin pie pancakes and a Thanksgiving dinner sandwich with cranberry sauce and stuffing. The Lincoln Park brunch hotspot at 444 W. Fullerton Parkway, near Fullerton and Clark, has welcomed Chef Alejandro Gomez into its family, according to a recent Metromix report.

'Alejandro has designed locally inspired dishes using the best and freshest ingredients while keeping all of your old-time favorites on our menu,' Eva Knapp, owner of Sarks in the Park, said. 'We have added new items like Red Velvet Pancakes, the Bacon, Apple and Brie Omelet, and a juicy Hawaiian Barbecue Pork sandwich with fresh pineapple to the re-invented menu.'

Customers at Sarks in the Park can enjoy daily breakfast specials including apple pie french toast, or more traditional offerings like bacon, eggs and hashbrowns on "Throwback Thursdays," according to its online menu. The restaurant also delivers the dishes seven days a week—even as far as the Loop, its website says.
"Our goal at Sarks in the Park is to provide your childhood favorites along with an upbeat and pleasant atmosphere," the website says, noting that the business was awarded the title of No. 1 Must-Do Thing Before the End of Summer by Metromix Chicago for its spacious patio sunken below street level. "We now offer new menu items and specials so stop in and see us!"
The original Sarkis Cafe can be found in Evanston. Owners debuted the second Sarks in the Park location in the summer of 2009, according to Metromix.
It's open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers free wireless Internet for on-the-go professionals. For more information about the restaurant or its menu, call 773-404-9000, visit it on the web or in person at 444 W. Fullerton Parkway in Chicago.
