What if a hurricane swept up hungry, deadly sharks and then landed in a theater near you?
That’s happening tonight, as the social media sensation, made-for-TV-movie Sharknado gets screened at 200 theaters across the country, including Regal Webster Place 11, 1471 W. Webster Ave. in Lincoln Park.
It's also playing at a couple theaters in Lincolnshire and Crystal Lake. Here's the full list.

The Syfy channel movie, starting Tara Reid, aired last month and became an instant Internet phenomenon. Apparently the makers are hoping it will become more than just a virtual hit by screening it across the country at midnight tonight, according to Ad Age.

When the campy film first aired, there were 5,000 tweets per minute happening at points, according to CNN.
