This Week: Musicians, Spoken Word Artists Take Tonic Room Stage, and More

There are plenty of options for things to do in Lincoln Park this week. We'll give you a few ideas today, and also continue to do so daily through our "Today in Lincoln Park" section.

Looking for a way to take the edge off your Monday?

Consider heading to The Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted Ave., for its weekly "Table Jam" that features artists from all walks of life.

Attendees are free to read poetry, sing or play instruments. Carl "Mojo" Kennedy will be on the keys, Dan "Flava" Kristan on the bass, Anthony "Golden Boy" Bracco on the six-string and the one and only Robert Dicke "Doozem" will take to the drums.

"This is the jam where we like to make it funky!" the venue's website says. "Come sit in with us, everyone is welcome! Or just come take it all in."

Admission is free and the action starts at 10 p.m.

Also up this week ...

TUESDAY

THURSDAY

  • Annie Bosh is Missing will show at 8 p.m. at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. At 22 years old and fresh out of rehab, Bosh finds herself working in a bowling alley, living in her mother’s ritzy subdivision, and desperate to move on with her life, according to Steppenwolf. Slipping out of the front gates, Annie wanders the chaotic streets of a post-Hurricane Katrina Houston, but what exactly is she looking for? More information and $20 tickets.
  • Join those at the WineBar at Plum Market, 1233 N. Wells Street in Old Town, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at for a Tour of French Wines with Martine’s Wines, featuring Jennie Mass, Martine’s Midwest Regional Manager. Check the event listing for cost and other details.
