This Week's Pet: Once-Balding Pup Overcomes Adversity

Likely having survived for a while on his own, this 5-year-old Shih Tzu mix was suffering from skin allergies resulting in significant hair loss when he first came to PAWS Chicago. You won't believe how far he's come today.

Neville is a 5-year-old Shih Tzu mix who was transferred to PAWS Chicago Adoption Center in Lincoln Park from the Animal Welfare League after being found as a stray in October.

Likely having survived for a while on his own, the pup was suffering from skin allergies resulting in significant hair loss. He was covered in fleas, and had cataracts in his eyes.

But PAWS veterinarians provided Neville with immediate medical care to restore his health and give him a second chance at life.
