Thousands of North Siders Buy Jason Aldean Tickets

Special pre-sale tickets were announced for the country mega-star, and thousands of neighbors surrounding Wrigley Field already purchased tickets to the show.

After announcing his tour will swing through Chicago in 2013, thousands of North Side neighbors have already purchased tickets to country singer Jason Aldean’s concert at Wrigley Field.

The Chicago Cubs are reporting more than 3,000 neighbors surrounding Wrigley bought a ticket using the team’s special pre-sale code sent out on Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. An e-mail blast was sent to neighbors in mid-October announcing the concert on July 30 next year, as well as notifying them of a pre-sale ticket opportunity.

The singer’s latest album, Night Train, dropped on Oct. 16 and hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

Aldean recently earned three Country Music Association Awards nominations, in the categories of Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for "Dirt Road Anthem."

Night Train’s record-breaking lead single "Take A Little Ride" was the biggest digital debut ever by a male country artist and flew to the top of the country charts faster than any other song this year. It's Aldean's sixth consecutive number one single and tenth of his career.

"We've been lucky enough to sell out the amphitheater in Chicago a few times, and I'm excited to take this next step up to Wrigley Field," said Aldean. "This has always been an awesome city for us, and we're going to pay the Chicago fans back by throwing the biggest party of the summer."

Chicago Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts was on hand for one of Aldean's first announced stadium shows, featuring special guests Kelly Clarkson, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett.
