Chez Simo Passes Health Inspection, Opening in Days

Located at Lawrence and Damen avenues, Chez Simo will bring French cuisine to Ravenswood.

Chez Simo, a new French Bistro headed to Ravenswood, is one step closer to opening.

On May 6, the restaurant passed their Chicago Health Department inspection with no reported violations.

Owners still have not responded to Patch's email or phone calls, but describe their restaurant as "authentic French Cuisine with a variety of dishes that will please everyone's palette," on their website.

Chez Simo takes over the former Cinnamon Café location at 1968 W. Lawrence Ave. Before becoming Cinnamon Café in October 2011, the space was known as Ravenswood Grill, featuring American diner food.

Landlord Eloy Burciaga with Bertsch Properties said he had “quite a bit of interest” in the opening when the cafe closed in February.
