Chicago Events: Lights Festival, Ice Skating This Weekend

Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, Saturday
Details: This annual event will feature daylong entertainment along Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile, complete with family-friendly activities; concerts and a fireworks show over the Chicago River. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will marshal the Tree-Lighting Parade.
Cost: Free
Ice Skating at Millennium Park, Friday until March
Details: The rink has brought together more than 100,000 skaters each year for the past 11 years of operation. It’s located on Michigan Avenue between Washington and Madison streets.
Cost: Free admission, skate rental for $10
Sing-A-Long: R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet, Friday at 12 a.m.
Details: Whether you think R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet hip hopera is a masterpiece or a joke, this sing-a-long at Southport’s Music Box Theater will get you out of your seat and dancing.

Ukrainian Village Winter Market, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Details: Join the St. Nicholas Cathedral School at 2200 West Race Street for their winter market and artisan fair. Farmers, artists, crafters and snacks will be in abundance at the third annual festival.

Movember Complimentary Curbside Styling, Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Details: Gillette is partnering with State Street Barbers to support those participating in Movember, a movement where men grow mustaches to raise money for prostate cancer and other men's health issues. On Friday, stylists will roam between Union Station and Water Tower Place, handing out giveaways and free trims. After all, the American Moustache Institute named Chicago America’s Most Moustache-Friendly City.
