With 50-Degree May Temps, Local Pools Won't Open This Month
Two neighborhood pools are opening long after Memorial Day this year.
The official first day of summer—June 21—is right around the corner and that's exactly how long residents will have to wait before jumping into a neighborhood pool.
Both pools at West River Park, 5100 N. Francisco Ave., and Hamlin Park, 3035 N. Hoyne Ave., will open June 21.
Two other neighborhood pools will have opening dates sometime in mid-to-late June. Officials at California Park, 3843 N. California Ave., are hoping to open by the last week of June while Chase Park, 4701 N. Ashland Ave., is shooting for mid-month.
