North Side Events: TBOX, Art Show on Saturday
Between the Bucktown Holiday ArtShow and Lake View's legendary bar crawl, there's plenty to do on the North Side this weekend.

Friday Night Lights: Polar Party, Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Details: Take your 4 or 5-year-old to explore the world of winter animals at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Instructors will teach kids how to move and talk like a penguin.

Southport Holiday Stroll, Friday from 5-9 p.m.
Details: It's time for the annual tradition on Southport in Lake View, complete with music, free drinks and appetizers and shopping sales. It runs on Southport Avenue from Belmont to Irving Park Road. Combined with a sleigh and carolers, it's sure to be perfect kick-off to the holidays.
Cost: Free
Twelve Bars of Christmas (TBox 2012), Saturday starting at 8 a.m.
Details: Called the ‘World’s Most Spectacular Pub Crawl,’ the Twelve Bars of Christmas hits Wrigleyville’s Cubby Bar at 8 a.m. From there, travel—or stumble—through Lake View.

Bucktown Holiday ArtShow, Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m.
Details: With the Renegade Holiday Market a thing of the past, the neighborhood's next big intersection of art and holiday cheer is the 14th annual Bucktown Holiday ArtShow.
The show will be held on Dec. 8 and 9 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Holstein Park Fieldhouse, 2200 N. Oakley Ave. Organized by local businessman Brian Mattson since its inception, the show was originally founded as a response to Bucktown Arts Fest artists wanting a place to sell their work for the holiday season.

Northalsted Window Walk, Saturday at 2 p.m.
Details: Join your neighbors on North Halsted Street Saturday afternoon for a warm cup of yuletide cheer. Starting at Space Park on Roscoe Street, head up and down North Halsted and check out the marvelous window displays.

The Roast of Santa, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Details: Get ready to see the ugly side of St. Nicholas in this comedic jostling of Christmas’s favorite character. Guaranteed to ruin your holiday spirit at the Gorilla Tango Theater, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Cost: $20
Jolly Palooza, Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
Details: Lake View is hosting another holiday party on Lincoln Avenue from Diversey Parkway to Addison Street, this time with live ice sculpting, carolers and even an appearance by Santa & Mrs. Claus.
Cost: Free
“It’s a Wonderful Life” The Radio Play, Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Details: Join the Friends of Amundsen High School at the American Theater Company for a special performance of the holiday classic.
Cost: $40 for adults $20 children
