Foster and Ravenswood Metra Construction Resumes

After a delay in construction, the intersection will be closed starting Tuesday.

Construction at Foster and Ravenswood avenues is back on, according to an announcement from Ward 40 Ald. Patrick O’Connor.

The intersection will be closed from 9 a.m. Tuesday until 4 p.m. Thursday due to construction on the new Metra station and tracks.

Residents can use a detour that will go from Foster to Damen, Lawrence and Ashland.

Steel construction was originally scheduled for earlier in March, but delayed because of the weather, the alderman said.

The intersection will next close on April 23 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
