Goosefoot’s Chris Nugent Earns Chef of the Year

The Chicago Tribune released their 2013 Tribune Dining Awards, including two Lincoln Square eateries.

Just 13 months after opening his first restaurant, a Lincoln Square chef earned Chef of the Year in the Chicago Tribune Dining Awards.

Chris Nugent opened Goosefoot in December 2011 on Lawrence Avenue.

Nugent and his wife Nina designed and run the restaurant, which earned a Michelin star in November.

“We’re very thrilled to be doing something in our neighborhood,” Nina told Patch in November. “I think what makes us enjoy what we’ve been doing is to see people come by and celebrate so many special occasions. I think it’s the best feeling ever.”

Goosefoot features a nine-course meal priced at $115. And what’s even better, the restaurant is BYOB.

Not only does the neighborhood boast the best chef in the city, but one of the best restaurants.

The Tribune also named Elizabeth as the most outstanding restaurant. Foraging chef Iliana Regan opened Elizabeth in September and has received much notoriety around the city.

Tickets are sold for one of three prix fixe menus, ranging from $95 to $195, depending on the night of the week.
