Grave Race: Cemetery Run Returns to Rosehill
Lincoln Square will again host one of the most unusual 5K races in the city.
Runners can channel energy from beyond the grave in a race that takes place in a local burial ground.
The Rosehill “Crypt” Cemetery Run is back for a second year in Lincoln Square.
On Sept. 28, runners will travel through the historic cemetery’s 350 acres in one of the creepiest 5K races Chicago has to offer. But in this 5K, the breeze caressing runners’ faces might be more than the wind.

The crypt race brought in just under 1,000 runners in its inaugural year, said Fred Newton, a spokesperson for the run’s organizers, Special Events Management.
If running from ghosts isn’t motivation enough, proceeds from the $35 registration fee benefit the Chicago chapter of the American Diabetes Association.
