Lincoln Square Group Hosting 'TIFs 101' Workshop

CHICAGO — Tax Increment Financing impacts many Chicagoans' lives, but can be very confusing, even for those who follow it closely. The Heart of Lincoln Square Neighborhood Association is hosting a "TIFs 101" educational workshop on April 30 at the American Legion Post 973, 4355 N. Western Ave.

The meeting will specifically discuss how TIFs impact residents in the 40th and 47th wards.

The free event will begin at 7 p.m., but community members are invited to grab drinks and mingle at 6:30 p.m.

Those who wish to attend are asked to register beforehand.

• Ryan Warsing, neighborhood services director, Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce
• John Chase, director of investigations, Better Government Association
• Andrea Craft, PhD student in Urban Planning and Policy, UIC

The Heart Of Lincoln Square Neighborhood Association said a full house is expected, so early registration is recommended.
