Lincoln Square Lanes Gets Funky for Grand Opening

The newly-renovated bowling alley opened earlier this month, but is ready to celebrate with a party on Friday.

A giant mural of Abraham Lincoln overlooks new lanes and a live music stage at Lincoln Square's bowling alley.

Lincoln Square Lanes, at 4874 N. Lincoln Ave., closed for renovations in November, re-opening with a new look earlier this month.

And manager Jim Spencer is ready to celebrate; the alley will host a grand opening celebration on Friday.

Specials include:

  • $3 Coors/Miller Drafts
  • $4 Domestic Bottles
  • $4 Fireball Shots
  • $5 Bomb Shots
  • 1/2 off Appetizers

Credit card payment and draft beer are two changes partygoers will see. Despite the modern conveniences, bowlers will track strikes with a pencil and scorecard.

“There’s a lot of history to the place. For everything’s that different, there are two things that have been restored,” Spencer said.
