Long-Awaited LSAC Pool Now Open
The pool, across the street from the Lincoln Square Athletic Club, is available for kids' parties and family swims.
Swimmers don’t have to wait until summer to start laps; the Lincoln Square Athletic Club opened on Tuesday.
The 5-lane, 25-yard pool is located across the street from LSAC at 6442 N. Lincoln Ave. Locker rooms are in the pool building, along with complimentary towels.
When LSAC opened in July of 2011, membership advisor Amanda Shapiro said there was a “high demand” for a pool.

“This location is very family-oriented and the owners were looking for a place for a pool,” she said. “This place fit the bill perfectly.”
The building was a mechanic shop before Chicago Athletic Club owners purchased it. LSAC is the fifth facility in the CAC network to have a pool.

Shapiro said the club would host a grand opening for the pool sometime in the future. In the meantime, it’s available for birthday parties and other private functions. Nonmembers can buy a day pass for $25.
Updated Jan. 31: With the pool comes the LSAC playschool, a kids programming in the new building. Online reservations are now open for the playschool starting Feb. 18.
The pool hours are the same as the athletic club’s: Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m., Friday from 5 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
LSAC will host water aerobics and family swims at the pool; a full schedule can be seen here.
