Maifest to Kick Off Summer Festival Season
The Lincoln Square celebration of spring brings German tradition to the start of summer.
The summer festival season will soon be in full swing, and Lincoln Square is starting the party. Maifest Chicago is May 30 to June 2 at Lincoln and Leland avenues.
Mayfest, or Maifest in German, has celebrated the arrival of spring in the neighborhood for 13 years.
On Friday, join alumni from the Old Town School of Folk Music for the traditional keg tapping and May Queen crowning. Saturday and Sunday also promise live music, dancers and of course, classic German food.
