Man Set Himself on Fire in Downtown Chicago Monday Night

"He was just standing there on fire," witness said.

A shirtless man set himself on fire at the corner of Franklin and Van Buren streets in downtown Chicago late Monday evening, at about 9 p.m., according to a witness.

Anthony Trent, a security guard, told CBS Chicago “he was just standing there on fire.”

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. Police said he’s 24 years old and intentionally lit himself on fire. A gas can was seen on the sidewalk.
