Despite a wet spring, construction is ahead of schedule on the Mariano's Fresh Market at the corner of Lawrence and Ravenswood avenues.
Although the official word for an opening date is January 2014, Ravenswood residents might get their new grocery store as early as November, workers confirmed at the site. Construction for the project started in December.

An L.A. Fitness and Sears Auto Center will be on the ground floor of the new building, with the market on the second floor and rooftop parking.
The development runs parallel to the construction of a new Ravenswood Metra Station, 150 residential apartments and streetscape beautification on Lawrence.
