Metra Construction Closes Ravenswood Avenue

Parts of Ravenswood Avenue will be closed due to construction on the Metra, according to an announcement from Ward 40 Ald. Patrick O'Connor. 

The alderman said the street is completely closed on the east side of the Metra tracks from Foster to Berwyn until March 15. Leland Avenue at Ravenswood will continue to be closed until March 30. 

The closures stem from the construction of new Metra tracks that broke ground in September. The project, which is slated to finish in 2019, will replace 11 bridges, install a new track and a station at Ravenswood and Lawrence avenues for $225 million.
