Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Car on Montrose
Police say the 33-year-old man was thrown from his bike after colliding with a parked car near Welles Park.

A 33-year-old man is dead after hitting a parked car early Wednesday morning, Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
According to police, the accident occurred sometime around 4:45 a.m. when the man hit a two-door car parked on the 2200 block of West Montrose Avenue near Welles Park. The collision happened after the man was riding a motorcycle westbound on Montrose and began merging into the right lane.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike, and while police can’t confirm if the man was wearing a helmet, the Chicago Tribune reports a helmet was found on the ground at the scene.

After being transferred to Lake View’s Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, the man was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m., police said. Police are withholding the man’s name in respect to his family who may not have been notified yet.
"It sounded like a truck going over those heavy metal plates," nearby resident Tony Pintozza, 68, told the Tribune.
