'Mummy Bandit' Continues Bank Robberies on the North Side
A man who robbed a bank twice near Lincoln Square moved on to Wicker Park Tuesday, police said.

A man who robbed a bank twice near Lincoln Square is responsible for another robbery in Wicker Park, police said Wednesday.
At about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a man demanded money from the bank teller at the North Community Bank, 2000 W. Division St. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled on foot, according to an officer with the Chicago Police Department of News Affairs. The man did not imply he had a weapon and no injuries were reported.
The Wicker Park robbery is the fourth time a North Community Bank branch has been robbed on the North Side since December. Police say the same man robbed the branch at 1555 N. Damen Ave and 4701 N. Clark St. in both December and February near Lincoln Square.

The FBI dubbed the man the "Mummy Bandit" because he wears a white scarf covering his face and a construction safety vest. Police describe the suspect as a 6-foot-3 white man, 230 pounds between 27 and 30 years old. During robberies, he has been seen wearing dark jeans, dark shoes and a light-colored hoodie with the construction vest, according to Bandit Tracker Chicago.
