'Neighborly' Home Goods and Art Store Opens Saturday
Neighborly, a new venture from the creator of Ork Posters, opens Saturday at Damen and Montrose Avenue.

Just in time for the holidays, a new home goods store will open its doors on Saturday.
Neighborly, at 2003 West Montrose, will feature home accessories and art “for the Midwesterner with a modern style,” co-owner Mary Beth Kapp said.
Kapp starts the venture with Jenny Beorkrem, who she met early in her graphic design career.

The store is an expansion of Ork Posters, created by Beorkrem. Ork features posters and screenprints of neighborhoods in Chicago and more than 20 other cities.
The shop on Montrose was home to Ork until Beorkrem wanted more room for printing. The 5-year-old poster store moved to 1761 W Berteau Avenue.

The move left the location on Montrose open, so the two began conceptualizing Neighborly in the summer.
“We’ve been stocking the store with things that we love,” Kapp said. “There are a lot of stores in Chicago that we like, but we felt like we couldn’t find one that had everything we liked in one space."
The two will feature artists from the Midwest, and go for a modern aesthetic with some handmade goods.
Neighborly will open its doors at 10 a.m. on Saturday. In the evening, they’ll have a grand opening party, featuring a ”Neighborly Stout” by Begyle Brewing Company.
Neighborly’s holiday hours are:
- Monday 2-7 p.m.
- Tuesday through Friday 11-7 p.m.
- Saturday 10 – 6 p.m.
- Sunday 11 – 4 p.m.
