Parking Notice: Lincoln Square Streets to Avoid this Winter

The Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation has been working hard to ensure that the city is prepared for the first winter storm, and residents in Lincoln Square should be equally as prepared when parking.

An Overnight Winter Parking Ban will take effect around the City of Chicago beginning this Saturday through Monday, April 1 from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., regardless of snow. 

The parking ban affects several streets in Lincoln Square and signage highlighting the ban in other parts of the city is permanently posted along 107 miles of Chicago's most critical arterial streets. 

Motorists should also refrain from parking on any of the 500 miles of designated snow routes when two or more inches of snow has fallen. That includes basically every major thoroughfare in Lincoln Square.

During a heavy snow, the city may need to activate enforcement of the two-inch parking restriction, and vehicles parked in violation would become subject to being ticketed and vehicle relocation.

• Kedzie from Bryn Mawr to Irving Park
• Foster from Central to Clark

Two-Inch Snow Parking Ban:

• Irving Park Road
• Lincoln Avenue
• Ashland Avenue
• Damen Avenue
• Western Avenue
