Pawar Postpones Ward Council Meeting Because of Severe Storms
The alderman was scheduled to meet with neighborhood groups and residents at a Ward Council meeting Wednesday night; a new meeting will be announced in the next few days.

Ameya Pawar is canceling the Ward 47 Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday night because of severe weather, according to announcement from the alderman.
The meeting was set for 6:30 p.m. at Bethany Retirement Community Auditorium, 4950 N. Ashland Ave.
"Due to the severe weather we are experiencing, and will continue to experience throughout the evening, we have postponed our Ward Council Meeting scheduled for tonight," the alderman said in an email alert to residents. "We will announce an alternate date in this week's newsletter,"

Showers will continue until Thursday with a possible accumulation of 1 to 2 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Chicago is no longer under a severe thunderstorm warning, but a flash flood warning has been issued for the area until 8:30 p.m..
