PHOTOS: Dolce Casa Café Reopens With New Look
The café at 4947 N. Damen Ave. closed for renovations in early January. Take a sneak peak at what's different.
Coffee lovers rejoice! Dolce Casa Café on Damen Avenue is open again after closing for renovations.
The café closed Jan. 1 and reopened on Monday with a new kitchen floor, vent hood and retail display.
Dolce Casa has always provided a space for local products, but is now featuring them more prominently, owner and chef Ross Outten said. Homemade coffee cup sleeves and artwork are two of the goodies for sale. The photographs and oil paintings feature birds on a wire and Chicago skies by Laura Matzen.

As caffeine addicts poured in on Monday, they said how much they missed the neighborhood spot in the two weeks it was closed.
In 2013, the café will add live jazz on Friday afternoons and a Scrabble club every other Sunday starting Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
