Police: Man Passes Funny Money at North Side Businesses

Police are looking for a man who they say has been passing funny money around the North Side during the past month.

The suspect is described as black, between 20 and 27 years old, about 5-feet-9 inches to 6 feet tall, and around 150 or 175 pounds.

At least two different times, he's entered stores in the area and used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase a single item of clothing, according to police.

One reported incident was around 2:25 p.m. Jan. 22 in the 1500 block of North Halsted Street and another was around 12:30 p.m. Jan. 24 in the 500 block of West North Avenue.
