Lincoln Square Restaurant Marries Russian, Chinese Cuisine

Only one restaurant in the neighborhood serves dumplings alongside Russian blinchiki. Learn more about Jibek Jolu on Lincoln Avenue.

The typical customer at Jibek Jolu looks Asian, but speaks Russian. That's according to Albina Urmat, a chef in the restaurant at 5047 N. Lincoln Ave.

Described as serving Central Asian cuisine, Jibek Jolu focuses on food from the country of Kyrgyzstan. Situated between China and Kazakhstan, its food melds flavors from Russia, Mongolia and China.

"We adapt from everywhere," Urmat told ABC Local's Steve Dolinsky during a feature on the restaurant.
