‘Significant’ Winter Storm Hitting Chicago Thursday
Beginning Thursday night and continuing into Friday, the North Side could see several inches of snow along with freezing drizzle.

Chicago could see its biggest snowfall of the year, topping the 2.7 inches the city saw earlier in February.
The area could get anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of snow starting late Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The agency has issued a hazardous weather alert with wind chill values up to -15 degrees.

Flurries will continue into Friday, changing to a mix of freezing drizzle. This could make Friday morning’s commute difficult, the alert said.
The snowstorm is traveling across the Planes states, where Indiana might see a foot of snow, the Chicago Tribune reports.
