Sleet and Freezing Rain Joins Predicted Snow Storm

Tuesday's commute home will be messy as officials predict inches of snow, along with sleet and freezing rain.

Barely a week has passed since Chicago’s first significant snowfall and the city is about to see another.

About 3 to 6 inches could fall starting Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Snow will continue throughout the day and turn into freezing rain and sleet by the afternoon.

The weather service is predicting up to two-tenths of an inch of ice in a winter storm watch released Monday.
