Students Score with Blackhawks’ Tony Esposito and Rep. Quigley Visit

Budlong Elementary hosted the Hall of Fame goalie and Illinois representative for a hockey scrimmage and team-building session.

Students at Budlong Elementary School will be scoring and passing with new floor hockey equipment after a visit from local celebrities.

Friday, former Chicago Blackhawks goalie Tony Esposito and Rep. Mike Quigley (IL-5) took their sticks to the school for drills and team-building exercises with a group of fifth graders.

“It’s important that we give kids of all backgrounds the opportunity to play sports and live an active lifestyle, especially as schools are forced to cut back physical education and athletic programs,” Quigley said in a news release.
