Turin Bicycles Eyes April Opening on Damen
The bike shop that has been tempting cyclists since putting up signs in January has an opening date in sight.

Come spring, Ravenswood bikers will have a new place to tune their wheels.
Turin Bicycles is moving to 4710 N. Damen Ave., in the old Hoard Antiques building.
Owner Lee Katz told Patch in January he hoped to be open March 1, but now he’s looking at the beginning of April.

A small delay doesn’t stop the celebration, Sales Manager Chris Oloroso said. The store will plan a grand opening with celebrities in the cycling scene and an exhibit of craft bikes. About 10-12 handmade and artisanal bikes will be on display in the shop.
Until then, Oloroso said residents are welcome to stop by and ask questions about merchandise and cycling. He also said the shop was working on a partnership with Kidical Mass, the family-friendly bike rides that take off in Welles Park.

Turin Bicycles is unique in that it sells its own bikes and apparel, in addition to other products.
The shop first began with an Evanston location. When Katz left the building in May 2012, he took the name with him and the store became Ten 27 Cycles. That company closed in December and re-opened in November as Wheel and Sprocket.
Ravenswood will be the first city location outside of Denver, CO.
