Just in case you need to run out to snag a last-minute carton of egg nog, here's where you can go that won't be closed.

Time is precious at Christmas, so we've compiled a list of what's open in the area. Don't waste your time driving to stores that are closed, and feel free to add more in the comments section.

But it's Christmas, so we'll forgive him. HarvesTime Foods at 2632 N. Lawrence Ave will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Scrabble Has Lost Its Appeal...
So go see a movie at The Davis Theater! Les Miserable and Django will both premiere, with Lincoln and The Hobbit also playing. Showtimes start at 11:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Running Out of Gas
It usually happens after the holidays, but if you forgot to fill up before hitting the road, the Damen Mobil station will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Christmas Day.
Stick with Frozen Pizza
Despite reports on EveryBlock, Chicago's Pizza in Ravenswood will not be open on Christmas Day. A quick call to the restaurant found the only location that will stay open is in Lake View at 3114 North Lincoln Ave.

Nothing Says Christmas Like French Fries
The golden arches at 4844 N. Lincoln Ave. will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Hours are 5 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Christmas Day.
