200 Minors At Party Cause 'Disturbance,' 2 Adults Cited: Manhattan PD
The party happened in the White Feather subdivision Saturday, police said.
MANHATTAN, IL — Two adults and several juveniles were cited after a large party with hundreds in attendance was broken up Saturday in the White Feather subdivision, Manhattan police said Thursday.
Manhattan police were called to Chippewa Lane and Iroquois Drive around 9:30 p.m. Saturday regarding a noise complaint. Police on scene found nearly 200 people parked and standing in the roadway, "revving engines and creating a disturbance," according to police reports.
Many gathered appeared to be juveniles, police said. Police ordered the crowd to disperse, and as they did, they fled on foot through neighboring yards, while others jumped in cars and drove off, police said.

Police were on scene for over an hour until the group completely dispersed, according to reports. Officers later cited the adults of the residence where the crowd had gathered.
Dominic Amato, 43, and Mandy Amato, 40, both of Manhattan, were cited for disorderly conduct. Several juveniles were also cited for disorderly conduct, police said.
