Criminal Damage / Fire / Explosives Charges Land Manhattan Man in Jail

The Manhattan police won't say what he had been allegedly damaging, burning or exploding.

MANHATTAN, IL — A Manhattan man was jailed Wednesday night on four felony charges for allegedly damaging what might be tens of thousands of dollars worth of property.

Brent Delaney, 48, remains in custody at the Will County jail. He faces four counts of criminal damage/fire/explosives, according to court records. The criminal complaint against Delaney has yet to be publicly filed and the police won’t say what he was supposedly up to you.

“It’s still an active investigation,” said Manhattan police Detective Mike Holford, explaining that the department is keeping the circumstances of Delaney’s case “confidential.”

Holford did say that the allegations involve “several vehicles and buildings.”

Each of the criminal counts against Delaney says he caused between $300 and $10,000 worth of damage.

Delaney’s bond was set at $30,000, according to jail records. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 27.
