Fire Engulfs Outbuilding In Peotone, No One Injured: Fire District
The fire happened Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

PEOTONE, IL — No one was injured after a fire engulfed an outbuilding in Peotone Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 1:35 p.m., the Manhattan Fire Protection District was called for a report of fire in an outbuilding in the 32000 block of Drecksler Road in Peotone.
The first units arrived on-scene within six minutes of the initial call, with crews finding heavy smoke and flames in an outbuilding containing tractors. A full still alarm was activated for additional personnel and equipment.

Firefighters quickly established rural water supply, and immediately began fire attack on the building. The fire was controlled before reaching any nearby structures. It was extinguished with 30 minutes.
All occupants had safely evacuated the building, and no injuries were reported to civilians, firefighters, or animals.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by MABAS 19 Investigators.
Multiple agencies were on the scene and at the Manhattan fire stations to cover any additional calls for service during that time. Support came from Beecher Fire Protection District, Frankfort Fire Protection District, Mokena Fire Protection District, Monee Fire Protection District, Manteno Fire Protection District, Bourbonnais Fire Protection District, Grant Park Fire Protection District, Elwood Fire Protection District, Park Forest Fire Protection District, and University Park Fire Protection District.
