Home Fire In Manhattan, No Injuries Reported: Officials
The fire happened just after noon Tuesday in Manhattan.

MANHATTAN, IL ā The Manhattan Fire Protection District responded Tuesday to a report of a home fire, according to MFPD officials.
Firefighters responded within 5 minutes of receiving the call, which came in at 12:23 p.m., officials said. The fire took place in a two-story home in the 26000 block of South Cherry Hill Road in Manhattan.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the roof and second story of the home. Firefighters located the source of the fire and were able to put it out within 30 minutes, officials said.

One person inside the home was able to escape with no injuries with the help of the first responders on the scene, officials said. No injuries were reported to any of the responders, either.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, officials said.

New Lenox Fire Protection District, East Joliet Fire Protection District, Lockport Fire Protection District, Homer Fire Protection District, Orland Fire Protection District, Manteno Fire Protection District, Monee Fire Protection District, Wilmington Fire Protection District, Channahon Fire Protection District and Coal City Fire Protection District also responded to the fire to provide additional assistance, officials said.
