Special Olympics Chicago Athlete Designs 2022 Polar Plunge Shirt
For the first time in Chicago Polar Plunge history for Special Olympics Chicago, the official 2022 polar plunge shirt has been designed by one of its athletes, which is being presented by Jackson National Life Insurance Company.
Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities has partnered with 21 Pineapples CEO and SOC/SCC athlete Nate Simon to create an exclusive shirt for the 2022 Chicago Polar Plunge. The Chicago Polar Plunge will take place on Sunday, March 6 at North Avenue Beach.

Spreading A Little Patriotism: Snow Flag In Manhattan Goes Viral
Farmers in the Midwest usually have a bit of downtime in the winter. One Manhattan farmer decided to make the most of that time and achieved internet fame recently when he created a larger-than-life American flag in the snow on his 160-acre property.
Dave Kestel, a third-generation farmer, made the roughly 90-foot by 60-foot flag Feb. 5. The flag itself is gone now, thanks to sunshine and warmer weather this past week, but the images are still there and making the rounds across social media.

Man Refuses To Leave Bank, Runs From Park Forest Police: Cops
A man is in custody after refusing to leave a U.S. Bank Saturday morning, police told Patch.
According to officers, an emergency alarm was pulled at around 8:30 a.m. at the U.S. Bank on 99 Indianwood Boulevard. When officials arrived, a man inside the bank was refusing to leave.

Cruz Threatens To Sue Dist. 229 For 'Illegal Removal' From Board
Former Dist. 229 board member Rob Cruz, who was removed from his elected position last month after he sued Gov. J.B. Pritzker challenging the state wide school mask mandate, has given the school board 14 days to reinstate him or schedule a hearing before the South Cook Regional Superintendent. Cruz was elected to the D229 board in April 2021, and is now running in the upcoming Illinois 6th Congressional District GOP primary.
'Multiple' Calls To Police, Sheriff As Shots Fired At Event Space
Midlothian police and Cook County Sheriff's deputies are investigating multiple reports of gunshots after Midlothian and Oak Forest residents reported hearing shots fired early Sunday morning.
According to police, officers responded to the intersection of 148th Street and Cicero Avenue Sunday at 12:15 a.m. When they arrived, police said multiple cars were fleeing the parking lot of TwentyOne20 Events.
