Train Hits Car In Manhattan, 1 Injured: Fire Chief

The incident happened at a crossing on Cedar near Delaney Road Tuesday night.

MANHATTAN, IL — A car was struck by a Metra train in Manhattan Tuesday night.

The car was hit at a crossing on Cedar Road south of Delaney Road around 7 p.m, Manhattan Fire Protection District Chief Steve Malone said. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Five passengers on the train refused treatment at the scene, Malone said.
