Village To Host Downtown Architectural Design Guidelines Input Event
The event will be held Jan. 30, with both a morning and evening session. Discussion will center around plans for Manhattan's downtown.
MANHATTAN, IL — The Village of Manhattan invites residents and stakeholders to join consultants the Farnsworth Group or a stakeholder input event regarding the Downtown Architectural Design Guidelines. The event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Manhattan Township Building, located at 230 Wabash Street, Manhattan.
Two sessions will be held:
- Morning Session: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Evening Session: 6 to 8 p.m.
This event marks an important step in the Village’s ongoing redevelopment project, which began in August 2022, officials said. The Village has been collaborating with local taxing bodies and community partners to develop a concept plan that aligns with the community’s vision for growth. As part of this process, architectural design guidelines are being created to preserve the charm and character of downtown while accommodating future growth. The Village is also working closely with the Manhattan Township Historical Society to ensure historical preservation.
