30-Year-Old Pizza Man Sexually Exploited Mokena Teen: Petition

A 30-year-old pizza deliveryman posed as a 19-year-old and sexually abused a Mokena teen, the girl’s mother said.

The deliveryman, Ryan Benck of Manhattan, has been jailed on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, the indecent solicitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child and solicitation of a child.

Benck’s bond was set at $50,000, but the mother of the 16-year-old he allegedly exploited sought and obtained a protective order against him just in case he gets out.

In her petition for the order, the mother said she discovered Benck’s true age when she went to get a pizza earlier this month.

“The delivery driver was at the pizza place,” she said. “I asked about this boy, and the clerk said … he is in his 30s. This man had told me when he was in my home he was 19. After this I went to the police.”

The mother said her suspicions were actually raised a week or so earlier when she checked her daughter’s phone and found lascivious texts between the teen and Benck, and naked photos of her child.

The mother said her daughter has low self-esteem and that Benck took “advantage of her, telling her things to make her feel pretty.”

“I have warned her about this type of thing,” the mother said. “I am afraid if Ryan gets out of jail he will try either (to) hurt my daughter or to take her with him. He has talked to my daughter about getting married. I fear for her safety.”
